About Us:
Who Is Northern Mountain Supply?
We're glad you want to know who we are. Since 1974 we've been providing
our customers in Northwestern California (and visitors from around the
world) with quality outdoor gear, clothing and footwear. During this period
of time thousands of folks have stocked up on tents, packs, canoes, kayaks,
stoves, hiking boots, etc. We can outfit you in style for just about any
backcountry or river trip you've got in mind.
There are currently 20 men and women who work in the retail store, and
our collective knowledge of the backpacking, mountaineering, climbing,
camping and paddle sports industries is one of our strongest assets.
We're all outdoor-type people at Northern Mountain Supply. When it's
time for us to head for the mountains, we pack, cook, paddle, dress and
climb with the very same equipment we sell in the store.
To keep up with the latest developments in outdoor gear, we visit no
less than 6 major trade shows a year.
We also maintain an intensive schedule of new product training for our
employees .
Some people believe politics and business don't mix very well. We consider
environmental activism to be a part of our business.
Local environmental groups, schools and community groups are often the
recipients of support from Northern Mountain Supply. And in 1995 we won
the BEST BUSINESS AWARD from the Humboldt County Waste Management Task
Force because we recycle over 85% of the solid waste that comes our way.
Finally, we constantly pursue all the major outdoor equipment manufacturers
for any special deals we can offer our customers.
