Description of DMM Big Boa Screwgate :

The Boa is an advanced cold forged multi-purpose locking carabiner which incorporates the prime features of both the H.M.S. and Klettersteig carabiners in its distinctive ergonomic body. Forging gives high strength and rigidity whilst a mammoth gate opening readily accommodates either the Italian Hitch, Betterbrake, Bug, Cardiac Arrester, or other belay systems besides coping easily with Via Ferrata, ladder and wire protection systems. The Boa is available as a screwgate, Kwiklock or Locksafe. The triple action gate mechanism of the locksafe significantly reduces the possiblity of accidental gate opening, and is a major step forward in improving the safety of automatic locking carabiners. The Locksafe mechanism is avilable on all locking carabiners except the 10 mm Lynx.

Note: the Boa is not a general purpose carabiner. It has been specifically designed for use in the applications described above.
