Description of DMM 12mm Offset Screwgate :

Steel biners, although much heavier than Aluminium, are very strong and robust. These biners are great when strength and toughness are of the utmost importance and weight is not such an issue. These biners are used in many industrial situations - for more industrial products check out the other part of the site - but they also get used for centre and group use and in climbing walls.

The Offset-D shape of the 12 mm carabiner was chosen to maximise its strength by placing the load close and parallel to the spine of the carabiner. This serves to reduce bending moments at the ends of the spine and therefore the forces on the gate. This carabiner is best suited to situations where maximum strength is of paramount importance.
