As a three-person, extremely roomy fl oorless tent, the Mega Light is an excellent choice when weight and packability are paramount for fast travel. Weighing in at just over two pounds without its optional fl oor, the Mega Light packs down to the size of a grapefruit while offering 51 square feet of usable fl oor space once erected. Unlike traditional tents, the Mega Light can be pitched over snow pits or rocky terrain and its simple design makes for quick and easy set-ups. For all the talk about how avant-garde a tent without a floor is, there are times when it simply can’t cut it. That’s why we’ve made an optional, detachable floor which utilizes button-and-loop attachments to the tent and shock-cord loops to the tent stakes. This floor jives with Megamid models made from 1999-2001, but can also be used with previous models with eight 2" shoestring loops attached to the tent. Use it for rain-soaked dirt or while camping on the beach. Unless you’re into sand fleas, in that case you should opt out on this one.
