Sterling's cord is unique in many ways. We make our cords using the same standards and manufacturing processes as used in all our life safety rope products. We offer the widest color choices in the industry ranging in diameters from 2 mm to 9 mm. Typical accessory cords have little to no twist in the sheath, are less durable and tend to herniate. Sterling's cords have higher twist levels in the sheath and DryCore, which makes them resistant to moisture, easy to use, knot better, and last longer. Accessory cords offer tremendous versatility from utility to life-safety applications. The smaller diameter cords (2.75-6 mm) work great as tent guylines, shoelaces, pack lashing and other non-life safety applications. Larger cords (7-9 mm) are ideal for prusik cords, cordelettes, ice threads, lightweight low-stretch fixing and hauling "tag" lines. 6mm and up meets or exceeds CE standard EN 564.
Warning: accessory cords are for general utility purposes only, and not for use as lead climbing ropes.
