Swift Creek to Big Flat
A relatively easy trail gradient through an awesome stream gorge, meadows,
red serpentine outcrops, headwaters lakes, lots of views. Can connect
to the Salmon River at Big Flat. Numerous side trips or loops possible.
For example, Granite Lake, a short steep hike to Hanging Cirque Lake;
Twin Lakes through bogs with no trail, Parker Divide to Union Creek and
Coffee Creek. The argonauts rode and strode this trail from the Sacramento
River to the Salmon River Strikes. You end where a first trading post,
Abrams, was located.
