I like your new website. It's easy to use, etc. I gotta say, though, you could make it the hardest website ever to use and I would STILL mine through it for your specials! I was out this weekend with a GoLite Blur and Coal I got from you. Hiked in the Blur and slept in the Coal and every time I got that lovely rush of warmth, I thought of NMS. (I'm waiting for my next paycheck to grab a Salomon 300L for me and a pair of 200s for my two older girls, for day hikes along the AT.)

Only one thing I found ... the "teaser" for Mountain Hardwear actually called up Patagonia. Did that bother me? Nope. What did I do? Used your ultracool Brand search box to find MH, and went on with my life!

Excellent website!!

Being a camper/backpacker-turned-working stiff, I've finally gotten the time to re-enter the outdoors. However, my equipment has either rotted to dust, gotten itself "lost", or is just too cumbersome. Your website was a joy to visit. I must give Backpacker Magazine the credit for exposing me to you, but I'm sure I would have found you eventually; your prices are great!

Being of limited budget (broke), I was happy to see that someone like me (old) can get quality goods from JanSport, North Face and the such for such reasonable prices. My last backpack was a Kelty and I miss it greatly, but I've seen packs in here that blow my old one away... FOR HALF THE PRICE! I'm also cheered to see that you're in Eureka and I can visit from Redding if I need any assistance with any of the gear.

Just thought I would add a couple of comments to some of the others I have read. I have now received my third separate order from Northern Mountain Supply. My first order was a Dana Terraplane, second a Marmot down vest, and today I received my Jack Wolfskin rucksack, promptly like all the other orders.

I was a bit concerned when I first ordered the Dana because I needed to have the shoulder straps and the belt swapped out. I kind of expected someone to drop the ball somewhere, but much to my relief it came as ordered. I also wish to thank you for the fine and courteous service I receive when I call. I have been most impressed with the knowledge of your staff. The prices have been great too, but long after I have paid the bill, it is the helpful advice that I remember most. I just received my second order from NMS and again you guys just continue to impress me with your rapid service, excellent prices (although I missed the $180 deal on my Gregory Lassen by one day and ended up at $199) and vast selection. I know of no other mail order or e-commerce firm where I can order an item on Thursday morning and get it on Friday afternoon without requesting (or paying for) special shipping. This is no small feat considering you're shipping from California and I live in Virginia. Most on-line merchants haven't even processed my order by the time I have mine from you sitting on my porch.....MOST IMPRESSIVE!!! I will continue to tell my friends about NMS and, of course, will continue to shop you first for all of my on-line outdoor needs.

I found your Web site quite by accident while I was researching pricing on Gregory Whitman Packs, I had been shopping around on the web for a few weeks and the cheapest price I had found was $298. I called your shipping office and was helped by a couple of very efficient guys (who's names I unfortunately did not write down). They were able to track down my info, apologized, and acted in a manner that gave me confidence there would be no problems with the return. I told them that they could pick up the pack at my work address (which was different from the original mailing address) and was given a return order number. Within two days, they picked up the old pack and I had the correct one. I'm impressed! Customer satisfaction will keep me coming back every time.

Some of you already know me, the annoying French girl, because I've been calling several times lately about 4-season tents (Garuda, Mountain Hardwear and Sierra Designs). I wanted to tell you that even though I understand that my calls have been a pain for you, I appreciated very much your giving me enough information enabling me to finally choose the right tent to buy, a Tiros Convertible (98 model)... Buying such an important piece of gear without having ever actually seen any tent made by these manufacturers (and without having any possibility to do so here in Europe) is not easy at all... We'll be spending 4 1/2 months in several parts of the world in this tent next year, and we hope we'll go to sleep every night convinced of having made the right choice... Thanks again.
